So - the description was a room with a king bed and a private bath. I guess now I know to ask if the bathroom is in it's own room or just separated by a divider from the bedroom. Also - our king bed turned out to be 2 twins pushed together with a foam pad over the top of the whole thing. No one was going to be trying to sleep in the middle here. The food here was just ok. It's a good thing we liked everything else about our stay.
This was the 9th B&B we stayed in and it is at the bottom of our list. We are pretty critical, though, since we used to run one for a couple of years. We are kinda picky B&B customers now. Maybe we should stick to hotels, although not cheap ones - which we have only stayed in one (& it wasn't that cheap money-wise) because the fog was so thick we could not see in front of the car.
If you think that's a weird B&B, you should (& maybe you have) see the ones in the U.K. They are bathrooms from hell. It seems to kill these people to update or upgrade anything. I've been in showers with the old fashioned hose and NO curtain or door. I've seen only a tub and no hose or bucket. (In which case, I had to use my comet, which I always bring w/me to clean shower & tub floors) Once I've had a shower that was about 3'X 3'. Those people really don't know about the art of a proper shower. Or a clean bath room for that matter. Their cleaning products suck! With all that said, I wont go on about how they don't use screens in their windows. UGH I can't imagine why they have screen issues. But then again I said, I wont go on.
